In his first engagement during his visit to Lima, Peru, for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting, Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru Elmer Schialer, on 13 November 2024. During the meeting, Dr. Kao recalled and welcomed the conferment of Development Partnership of ASEAN on Peru in January 2024. Both sides also exchanged views on opportunities for future cooperation, including in green transition and renewable energy, digital economy, disaster management, and people-to-people exchanges. They looked forward to the finalisation of the Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA) for ASEAN-Peru Development Partnership 2025-2029.
