Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea Yu In-Chon, today in Seoul. Both sides underscored the importance of advancing sustainable tourism to enhance livelihoods and mitigate the impacts of climate change. They also discussed tourism marketing strategies and explored the potential establishment of the ASEAN-ROK Tourism Ministers’ Meeting to bolster cooperation and collaboration in the tourism sector. Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation in culture and the arts, and looked forward to the implementation of a pilot project to promote the diverse and rich shared cultural heritage between ASEAN and the ROK. They also commended advancements in sports collaboration, expressing contentment with the progress of the implementation of ASEAN-Korea Football Interpersonal Exchange and Leadership Development (FIELD) Programme, among others.
