Senior Officials of ASEAN Member States and China met for the 22^nd ASEAN-China SOM-DOC on 13 September 2024 in Xi’an, China. The Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community was also in attendance. Ahead of the 27^th ASEAN-China Summit in October 2024, the Meeting reviewed the implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, discussed the progress of the negotiations of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (COC), as well as other preparations.
