1. The 35 th ASEAN-Australia Forum (AAF) was held in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 16-17 March 2023 to discuss ASEAN and Australia’s shared commitment to implementing the ASEAN Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and to working constructively together to address shared regional and global challenges.
   
   
2. The Forum was co-chaired by H.E. Thongphane Savanphet, Lao PDR’s ASEAN SOM Leader and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR; and H.E. Michelle Chan, Australian ASEAN SOM Leader and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia. The Meeting was attended by Senior Officials from ASEAN Member States, Australia, and the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC). The Forum thanked the Lao PDR for its efforts as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations for 2021-2024, and expressed support for Indonesia’s ASEAN Chair year and its theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth”.
