The Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn attended the 55th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) in Semarang, Indonesia. Dr. Kao updated the Meeting on the Recommendations of the 43rd High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLTF-EI) to the 55th AEM and on Timor-Leste’s Application to ASEAN Membership.
Dr. Kao welcomed the progress in ASEAN’s economic community building efforts and underscored the importance of collective action to implement the decisions made by the AEM to boost economic recovery, strengthen the region’s capabilities to take advantage of the ongoing digital transformation, and accelerate ASEAN’s achievements of its sustainable development goals.
