As the staff members of the ASEAN Secretariat, their responsibilities are solely to ASEAN and not to any individual Member State. By accepting appointment, they pledge to discharge their duties and responsibilities with the highest standards of impartiality and professionalism, in the utmost interests of ASEAN, as enshrined in the ASEAN Charter.
