Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today welcomed the Young Parliamentarians from Malaysia, at the ASEAN HQ/ASEAN Secretariat. SG Dr. Kao expressed his appreciation for AIPA’s ongoing efforts to promote youth participation and enhance the political engagement of emerging leaders. He highlighted key initiatives such as Model AIPA, the AIPA Attachment Programme, and the AIPA Roadshow, which offer youth valuable insights into parliamentary diplomacy and regional collaboration. SG Dr. Kao also urged for increased youth representation in ASEAN parliaments to ensure that decisions align with the aspirations of the next generation, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable future for the region.
