JAKARTA, 10 September 2026 – ASEAN and Norway reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the ASEAN-Norway Sectoral Dialogue Partnership at the 11th ASEAN-Norway Joint Sectoral Cooperation Committee (AN-JSCC) Meeting, held today at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
The Meeting welcomed the successful conclusion of the ASEAN-Norway Practical Cooperation Areas (PCA) (2021-2025), which strengthened cooperation across all three ASEAN Community pillars. Both sides underscored the importance of the effective implementation of the ASEAN-Norway PCA (2026-2030), which will guide cooperation over the next five years and support the realisation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future.
The Meeting also exchanged views on cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including peace and reconciliation; human rights; Women, Peace and Security agenda; maritime cooperation, particularly in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; trade and investment; supply chain resilience; science, technology and innovation; energy transition, including support to the ASEAN Power Grid Initiative; Blue Economy, including sustainable fisheries and ocean management; green transition; digital economy; science, technology and innovation; sustainable transport, particularly green shipping; women’s empowerment and gender equality; creative economy; disaster management; education, human capital development and people-to-people exchanges, green skills; including through support to the ASEAN Junior Fellowship Programme; information, communication and technology; connectivity; smart and sustainable cities; narrowing the development gap; and the implementation of the four priority areas under the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.
Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community, H.E. Satvinder Singh, and Ambassador of Norway to ASEAN, H.E. Mariann Ruud Hagen, co-chaired the Meeting. Members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN or their representatives were in attendance.
