Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 28 September 2026, delivered remarks at the Welcome Reception of the Australia-ASEAN Business Forum (AABF) 2026, at the Government House, Adelaide, Australia. The Reception, hosted by The Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, marked the kick off of the AABF 2026 which will take place on 29-30 September 2026, in the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Under the theme “Deepening Australia-ASEAN Economic Integration in a Changing Global landscape,” the AABF 2026 brought together representatives from Australia and ASEAN Member States as well as several RCEP countries, including government officials, business leaders, experts and academia, as well as other stakeholders, to exchange views and advance cooperation on trade, investment, innovation in key sectors critical to sustainable growth, and other areas of mutual interest, with a view to deepening economic and business relations and advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and Australia.
