Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina presents Credentials to Secretary-General of ASEAN

JAKARTA, 20 August 2024 — Ambassador Armin Limo presented his letter of credence to Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today, assuming his post as the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to ASEAN.

Secretary-General Dr. Kao welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Limo on his assumption of duty. He also reiterated the ASEAN Secretariat’s readiness to working closely with Ambassador Limo and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Jakarta.

Ambassador Limo reiterated Bosnia and Herzegovina’s commitment to furthering its relations with ASEAN, building upon the accreditation of its Ambassador to ASEAN since 2020 and its diplomatic representation in the region.  

Secretary-General Dr. Kao took the opportunity to encourage Ambassador Limo to engage with diplomatic community in Jakarta, especially with the Permanent Missions of the ASEAN Member States to ASEAN. Both sides noted the significance of exploring further cooperation, through private sector participation as well as enhancing the volume of trade, investment and tourism, for mutual benefit.

Secretary-General Dr. Kao stated, “ASEAN looks forward to cooperate and collaborate with Bosnia and Herzegovina in areas of mutual interest where the country has the expertise and strength.”

Ambassador Limo said, “For Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is a great honour and pleasure to be presenting my credentials to the Secretary-General of ASEAN. Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to promoting its relationship with ASEAN and the region. I look forward to intensifying engagements with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Member States in the years to come.”

Ambassador Limo is the second Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to ASEAN, succeeding Ambassador Mehmed Halilović, who completed his tenure in June 2023.
