JAKARTA, 15 September 2025 – H.E. Ambassador Enrique Antonio Acuña Mendoza presented his Letter of Credence as the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to ASEAN to Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today.
Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Ambassador Mendoza on his assumption of office and looked forward to working closely with him and the Embassy of Venezuela in Jakarta to strengthen ASEAN-Venezuela relations. He encouraged Venezuela to explore opportunities for cooperation with ASEAN in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, tourism, and business-to-business linkages.
Ambassador Enrique Antonio Acuña Mendoza underlined Venezuela’s interest in strengthening its engagement with ASEAN and expressed his readiness to identify possible areas of cooperation with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States.
Venezuela has accredited its Ambassador to ASEAN since 2019. Ambassador Enrique Antonio Acuña Mendoza is the third Ambassador of Venezuela to ASEAN, succeeding Ambassador Radamés Jesús Gómez Azuaje, who completed her tenure in May 2024.
