JAKARTA, 22 January 2014 – Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, H.E. Chung Hae Moon today called on Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E. Le Luong Minh.

During their meeting, the two Secretaries-General exchanged views on a wide range of topics pertaining to ASEAN-ROK relations as well as coordination between the ASEAN-Korea Centre and the ASEAN Secretariat.

Secretary-General Chung informed that the ASEAN-Korea Centre will be undertaking a variety of activities to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations in 2014, particularly those in the areas of trade, tourism, connectivity and cultural exchange. He expressed hope that the Centre and the ASEAN Secretariat would coordinate closely in the implementation of such activities as well as in fostering ASEAN-ROK relations.

Secretary-General Minh acknowledged the important role of the ASEAN-Korea Centre as a key channel for enhancing ASEAN-ROK relations through promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in the economic and socio-cultural areas. He further highlighted the significance of planning meaningful activities to celebrate 25 Years of ASEAN-Korea Dialogue Relations this year and looked forward to coordinating closely with the ASEAN-Korea Centre to the realisation of this purpose and to further strengthen ASEAN-Korea friendship and cooperation.
