Jakarta, 28 November 2025 – The 9th ASEAN-Germany Development Partnership Committee (AG-DPC) Meeting, held today at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, underscored the shared commitment to deepen cooperation for mutual benefit.

The Meeting noted the outcomes of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, updates on the implementation of the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Work Plan IV, progress under the ASEAN Smart Cities Network initiative, and ASEAN’s ongoing efforts to advance sustainable development. Germany also apprised the Meeting on its domestic developments, its approach to international and regional challenges, and its future economic development and priorities.

The Meeting reviewed and commended the positive progress in implementing the ASEAN-Germany Practical Cooperation Areas (2023-2027), and emphasised the importance of addressing the remaining action lines. To maintain the momentum of the Development Partnership, the Meeting underlined the value of deeper collaboration in areas such as disaster management and humanitarian assistance, technical vocational education and training (TVET), food, agriculture forestry and agroforestry, energy security and energy transition, climate cooperation and environmental protection. Both sides also recognised the need to bolster outreach and enhance awareness of the partnership among relevant stakeholders.

Ralf Beste, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to ASEAN. Members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN, or their representatives, attended the Meeting.
