The Second Meeting of the Joint Council of the ASEAN-China Centre was held at the ASEAN-China Centre in Beijing this week.

The Joint Council, comprising representatives of ASEAN Member States, China and the ASEAN Secretariat, discussed and adopted the annual report of the ASEAN-China Centre for 2012 and considered the plan of operation and work programme of the Centre as well as the budget of the Centre for 2013. The Meeting hoped that the Centre would achieve more success and contribute to the implementation of the ASEAN-China Plan of Action to implement the Joint Declaration of the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity (2011-2015).

ASEAN and China established the Centre with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing the ASEAN-China Centre between ASEAN and China in 2009 in Hua Hin, Thailand.
