ASEAN cultural officials and experts gathered for the Interface Meeting on the Feasibility in the Development of ASEAN Cultural Heritage List

Interface ACHL-main

Following a series of substantive policy discussions held over the past one year, the Interface Meeting was held at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat to further discuss the feasibility in the development of ASEAN Cultural Heritage List (ACHL) on 2 August 2024. The proposal for the ACHL emerges from a recognition of the region’s unique cultural landscape and the need for its preservation. The list is envisaged to designate tangible and intangible cultural heritage assets of outstanding regional value that represent the diverse and rich heritage of the region. The Meeting was officiated by H.E. Nararya S. Soeprapto, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, and H.E. Jayant N. Khobragade, Ambassador of India to ASEAN, and was attended by representatives of SOMCA officials, CSOs, and experts from the ASEAN Member States and India.
