BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 5 March 2024 – The ASEAN Emergency Response and Assessment Team (ASEAN-ERAT) Induction Course, held on 27 February-5 March, was co-organised by the National Disaster Management Centre of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Brunei Darussalam and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre), with support from the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
In the spirit of One ASEAN, One Response, the course aims to prepare regional responders and in-country resources with experience in emergency management and coordination to respond to major disasters in the ASEAN region. All 38 participants from 10 ASEAN Member States, Timor-Leste, the ASEAN Secretariat, and AHA Centre, successfully graduated, bringing the pool of ASEAN-ERAT members to 422 personnel.
