ASEAN, ESCAP, ASEAN Centre for SDGs hold High-Level Discussion on accelerating SDGs

High Level Segment SDG-ed

A side event on “Fostering Partnerships for our Common Future: Enhancing Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Accelerate the SDGs in ASEAN” was held on the margins of the SDG Summit 2023 at the United Nations in New York.

 

The event comprised of a High-Level Segment and a panel discussion which provided a strategic venue for participants to share good practices and lessons learned in localising implementation of SDGs as well as cultivating effective multi-stakeholder engagements for sustainable development.

 

Prime Minister of Thailand Srettha Thavisin, President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Retno Marsudi, and Executive Secretary of UN ESCAP Armida Alisjahbana spoke on the High-Level segment.

 

In the panel discussion, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN Michael Tene spoke on revitalising multilateralism to support SDGs acceleration from ASEAN perspective.
