The ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh and the Hungarian Ambassador to ASEAN Judit Németh-Pach signed the ASEAN–Hungary Cooperation Agreement on Education yesterday at the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta.  The objective of the cooperation agreement is to improve the quality of human resources, support international mobility, and increase people-to-people connectivity between ASEAN and Hungary, and the EU in a greater context.

This agreement will provide scholarships for ASEAN students to study; and for young academic staffs to conduct research assignments in economics, culture and liberal arts, science, technology and medicine in Hungary. It will also provide support for Hungarian students and professors to visit ASEAN through short-term study and research programs in order to strengthen academic and research network.

The agreement will take effect as soon as the implementation arrangements are finalised.
