ASEAN launched the Autism Mapping project to provide data and information on Autism situation and existing policy interventions in order to enhance policy and programme development for persons with autism in the region. Funded by Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund, the 2-year project is undertaken by the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) in collaboration with ASEAN Secretariat and SOMSWD. It will compile accurate data source on the prevalence of autism; develop a mapping of organizations of and for persons with autism to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between these organizations; and establish a directory of support services and interventions available to persons with autism in the region.
