ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Australia discusses future of partnership

The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Australia was held in Vientiane today, attended by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia Penny Wong and Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn. Timor-Leste attended as an Observer. The Meeting welcomed the successful convening and substantive outcomes of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit held in Melbourne, Australia, on 5-6 March 2024, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations. The Meeting adopted a new ASEAN-Australia Plan of Action (2025-2029) which outlines the framework to further advance ASEAN-Australia cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern.
