ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Japan discusses progress of partnership

The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Japan was held in Vientiane today, attended by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan YĹŤko Kamikawa and Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn. Timor-Leste attended as an Observer. The Meeting reviewed the progress of ASEAN-Japan cooperation following the successful convening of the Commemorative Summit on the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation held in Tokyo in December 2023. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further advance the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including through working together to realise the Implementation Plan of the Joint Vision Statement adopted at the Commemorative Summit. The Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern.
