ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with New Zealand discusses future direction

The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with New Zealand was convened in Vientiane today, attended by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Winston Peters and Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz. Timor-Leste attended as an Observer. The Meeting welcomed the progress of ASEAN-New Zealand cooperation and discussed ways to intensify the strategic partnership. Both sides looked forward to the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations in 2025, which provides an opportunity to further strengthen the relationship. The Meeting also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern.
