PHNOM PENH, 14 November 2022 – Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi received an award from the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) during the ASEAN Business Awards in Cambodia, 9 November. The award marks the business communities’ deep respect, appreciation, and gratitude for Secretary-General Lim’s five-year service to ASEAN.
Secretary-General Lim was also the keynote speaker in the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, 10 November. In his address, he highlighted the importance of the ASEAN Centrality in shaping regionalism amid global geopolitical tension. He also reaffirmed the region’s commitment in promoting trade openness, integrating digital economy, and its transition toward sustainability.
The ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was attended by state leaders such as Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia and Prime Minister Pham Minh Cinh of Vietnam. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan, President of the European Council Charles Michek, and President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. of the Philippines delivered video messages at the Summit. It was attended by over 1000 participants.
The ASEAN Business Awards and the ASEAN Business Investment Summit are annual flagship events of the ASEAN BAC.
