This afternoon, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr Kao Kim Hourn paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, China John Lee at the Government House. The meeting discussed practical cooperation between ASEAN and Hong Kong, particularly in areas where the latter could contribute to support ASEAN’s initiatives such as the negotiations on the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), carbon neutrality, and the blue economy. They also discussed the progress in the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), including the progress of the accession procedure relevant to Hong Kong, China.
