The ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) convened today in Manila, the Philippines. The Meeting discussed ASEAN Community-building efforts, ASEAN’s external relations, and preparations for the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Post-Ministerial Conferences and related Meetings, with a view to advancing the priorities and deliverables of the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship. The Meeting was attended by ASEAN SOM Leaders or their representatives, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community.
