JAKARTA, 25 April 2016 – In keeping with the spirit of the ASEAN Community and unity in diversity, the ASEAN Women’s Circle (AWC) of Jakarta will hold a Spring Luncheon and introduction of new executive committee members and honorary members on April 29, 2016 at the Hibiscus Hall of the ASEAN Secretariat. Ibu Yasmin Fachir, wife of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Indonesia and AWC’s Chief Patron will be the guest of honor .

AWC President Ibu Ugi Pramono announced that the spring luncheon will be an opportunity for ladies from ASEAN member countries to showcase their talents in singing and dancing.  Aside from a cultural presentation of various dances and songs, an array of unique and distinct mouth-watering desserts and special dishes from the 10 ASEAN countries will also be served during the luncheon.

One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of charity donations to the different organizations that AWC supports.  This year’s beneficiaries are Dr. Share, Harry Darsono Foundation, poor children from Flores and for the renovation of Al Ikhwan School. Dr. Share is a non-profit organization that focuses on health care and humanitarian aid.  The organization has a floating hospital that provides health care to some of the remotest islands of Indonesia.  The donations will come from the funds raised by AWC through the various charity events such as bazaars, that they organized last year.

A mini bazaar will also be held at the lobby of the ASEAN Secretariat on the same day.
