Sixty-seven delegates from ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste convened for the ASEAN Youth in Climate Action and Disaster Resilience Conference from 1-2 May 2025 in Manila, the Philippines, adopting a conference declaration on the role of ASEAN Youth and calling for an empowered and better equipped ASEAN youth in driving climate resilient communities. An initiative of the Chair of the Senior Officials Meeting on Youth (SOMY) through the National Youth Commission of the Philippines, the conference brought together youth leaders, experts, and policymakers to discuss strategies for fostering collaboration, youth leadership, and innovative solutions for climate-resilient youth.
