This anthology, almost as planned from the beginning by the sponsor, the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information, is a selection of Brunei Darussalam's classic poems in Malay for anyone interested in the comparative study of ASEAN literature. The study of comparative literature mainly focuses on proving the validity or not of literary theories that have been found so far in works of literature in all countries in the world, and on the discovery of theories and genres that have not yet been found in other literatures in the world, if there is one, to add to the treasures of the world literature genre to be known by the world that does not yet know it. This anthology, which contains ten selected texts of the literature of Brunei Darussalam, was created with that purpose, in addition to introducing the country's classical poetry literature.
