This book is the result of the hard work and collaborative efforts of the ASEAN Working Group on a Pan ASEAN Timber Certification Initiative which has ben appointed to undertake effort toward a phased approach to forest certification. The Working Group was formed in 2002 and comprises representatives from the ASEAN Member States. This is indeed an important milestone for the ASEAN Cooperation in Forestry.

The book provides references for ASEAN Member States in developing their national standards/guidelines for chain of custody of legal timber and sustainable timber. The book consists of two parts which elaborate in detail the Guidelines for CoC of Legal Timber and the Guidelines for CoC of Sustainable Timber.
