The ASEAN Work Plan for Information and Media 2026–2035 provides a strategic roadmap for strengthening regional cooperation in information and media amidst a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Building upon the achievements of the ASEAN Strategic Plan for Information and Media 2016–2025, the Work Plan responds to emerging opportunities and challenges brought about by technological transformation, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital journalism, social media convergence, and the growing prevalence of misinformation and disinformation. Developed through a comprehensive review of existing ASEAN frameworks, landscape analyses, and extensive stakeholder consultations, the Work Plan seeks to foster a connected, informed, and resilient ASEAN community while reinforcing a shared ASEAN Identity and enhancing regional cooperation through the strategic use of information, media, and communication technologies.

Guided by five key strategic pillars, the Work Plan promotes whole-of-society collaboration to strengthen information integrity, digital inclusion, media literacy, strategic communication, institutional cooperation, and cross-sectoral partnerships. Through phased implementation, measurable outcomes, and a flexible, adaptive approach, it aims to support ASEAN Member States in addressing the region's evolving information and media landscape while advancing ASEAN Community Vision 2045. By fostering innovation, trusted information ecosystems, and collaborative governance, the Work Plan positions ASEAN to harness emerging technologies responsibly and strengthen regional resilience in an increasingly interconnected world.
