The ASEANO series is part of a growing number of ASEAN literature anthologist in recent years. While the majority of its precedents focused on folk or classic literature, ASEANO-as an adjunct project of the conference-necessarily pays attention to the contemporary literature of member countries. Vietnam, being a recently admitted member, is not yet included here
