Abstract

This book is about the beautiful flowers of the Philippines. It highlights the noteworthy flora of the country, which ranks among the most diverse and botanically rick areas in the world.

The Philippines harbors more than 10,400 species of seed plants, including over 5,300 native and endemic species found nowhere else outside the country, more than 4,100 indigenous species that are naturally growing in the Philippines and in other countries, and over 1,000 exotic species of ornamental and economic plants purposely introduced to the country or are invasive alien species.
