Agriculture in Asia and the Pacific has grown significantly over the past three decades due in large part to modern agricultural technology introduced in the early 1960's, as well as to improved policy-making and increased investments in the sector. Developments in recent years, however, have given rise to new challenges that need to be met if agricultural in the region is to make further progress.
