The production of this handbook under the AIPA Capacity Development Project funded by the Federal Republic of Germany through the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) achieves much as it is multifaceted and provides readers with a good mental map of the respective constituent parliaments' historical background, political and parliamentary system, national electoral system and internal structures and processes, as well as their constitution and the relationship between the executive and legislature. Reference has also been made to the role of AIPA vis-a-vis the national parliaments as vehicles in connecting the public with the regional parliaments and with others.
