The Secretariat, in collaboration with WHO, developed a project to assist ASEAN Member Countries carry out through assessment of national intellectual property laws to identify available legal options for increasing access to affordable medicines and to enhance local legal capacity with regard to intellectual property rights and Public Health. With support from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Project The ASEAN-Rockefeller Foundation Project on "Intellectual Property Laws Review and Capacity Building on Intellectual Property Rights Related to Public Health in the ASEAN Region" began implementation in May 2013.
