To enhance regional cooperation and harmonisation in TVET, the RECOTVET programme, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is supporting ASEAN Member States (AMS) in a series of breakthroughs in TVET development at a regional level. A particular focus of RECOTVET is on the improvement of framework conditions for the people involved in TVET planning and delivery. With the programme’s support, experts from Southeast Asia and Europe have been working on an overarching Regional Quality Assurance Model (RQAM) for TVET and TVET Personnel in Southeast Asia, focussing on quality criteria for the engagement of the private sector in TVET and the qualification of TVET teachers. Complementary, two competence profiles for TVET personnel have been developed: The Regional TVET.
