Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) into ASEAN reached US$ 38 billion in 2005, representing a 48% year-on-year increase from the previous year. Reinforcing the region’s attractiveness as an investment destination, the increase notably supersedes ASEAN FDI flow in 1997, putting ASEAN back on back on its growth path prior to the ASEAN financial crisis.
