This book, which can be considered as the first of its kind in the ASEAN region, makes no claim to comprehensiveness or definitiveness. but it is a beginning, a most significant one, indeed. The book introduces the various cultural traditional media forms of ASEAN member countries to each other and to the world at large underscores the importance of these cultural media forms; and seeks to encourage further study and analysis in this field.
