- ASEAN Ministers responsible for overseeing the prevention and combating of transnational crime from Brunei Darussalam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam met on 19 September 2017 for the Second Special ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Rise of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism (2nd SAMMRRVE).
- The Meeting was chaired by AMMTC Leader Philippines Catalino S. Cuy, Officer-in-Charge of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Republic of the Philippines. The purpose of the Meeting was to provide a venue for the ASEAN Member States to exchange views, ideas, experiences, and best practices in combating the rise of radicalization and violent extremism.
