The Secretary-General of ASEAN, His Excellency Dato Lim Jock Hoi, and the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), current and alumni, as well as all staff at the ASEAN Secretariat, are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our own, Her Excellency Kamsiah Kamaruddin, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN, on 31 March 2022, 28 Syaaban 1443.

Ambassador Kamsiah was a dedicated, wise, and empathetic champion of Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s interests. She was also a steady supporter of ASEAN Community-building. When CPR gathered among ourselves or with partners, Kamsiah injected joy, cheer and candour in our conversations.

We will always remember and will always miss Ambassador Kamsiah. May your soul repose in peace.
