The Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) gathered today in the historic city of Luang Prabang for their eighth regular meeting, signaling the start of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) and Related Meetings series. During the session, the CPR engaged in in-depth discussions on matters related to ASEAN Community-building efforts, including the follow-up to the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ and Related Meetings in July 2024. The CPR also addressed key aspects of ASEAN’s External Relations, focusing on strengthening existing partnerships with ASEAN Dialogue Partners, Sectoral Dialogue Partners and Development Partners, as well as International and Regional Organisations.
