Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Political-Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz, had a working lunch with the Head of ASEAN-Australia Centre (ACC), Fiona Hoggart, in Canberra today. Both sides exchanged views on the establishment of the ASEAN-Australia Centre, one of the key outcomes of the Special Summit to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN-Australia Dialogue Relations held in Melbourne in Marth this year. DSG Dato’ Astanah welcomed the establishment of the ACC to support the implementation of the ASEAN-Australia CSP by deepening business, education, cultural and community connections between the two sides. DSG Dato’ Astanah also held discussion with officials of relevant divisions of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on ways to promote cooperation between ASEAN and Australia in areas such as defence, cyber security, cybercrime, and emerging technology.
