The 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC) and Its Related Meetings, including +1 and +3 Consultations with the Plus Three Countries as well as the preceding Preparatory SOMTC Meetings, were held in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia on 20-23 August. The meetings were attended by AMMTC Leaders of all ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners or their representatives, Timor-Leste as observer, and the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community. Four Declarations, a successor cross-sectoral Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Work Plan, and five other outcome documents were adopted in the meeting.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN, was established on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the signing of the ASEAN Declaration (Bangkok Declaration) by the Founding Fathers of ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The ASEAN Community, anchored on three community pillars: Political-Security Community, Economic Community, Socio-Cultural Community was launched in 2015.
