On behalf of the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Economic Community, Satvinder Singh, graced the reception to commemorate the 249th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America as a Guest of Honour, this evening at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia in Jakarta. In his remarks, Deputy Secretary-General Satvinder Singh commended the United States’ steadfast support in maintaining and promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and underlined the remarkable progress of ASEAN-United States partnership across the three ASEAN Community pillars. The reception was attended by Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the United States to Indonesia, Heather Merritt, Charge d’Affaires of the United States Mission to ASEAN, Thao Anh Tran, and Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction of Indonesia, Yuzril Ihza Mahendra, along with members of diplomatic corps and business community in Jakarta.
