Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASCC H.E. Ekkaphab Phanthavong opened the Second Consultation on the Development of the ASEAN Declaration on Skills Mobility, Recognition and Development for Migrant Workers and its Checklist in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on 24 June 2024 alongside Lao PDR’s Vice Minister of Labour and Social Welfare H.E. Phongsaysack Inthalath and SLOM Chair H.E. Benedicto Ernesto Bitonio Jr, Undersecretary, Department of Labor and Employment of the Philippines. The Declaration is planned for adoption at the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits this year.
