First ambassador of San Marino presents credentials to ASEAN

JAKARTA, 11 October 2017— San Marino expressed its interest in pursuing closer cooperative relations with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States. This message was conveyed by the first Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino to ASEAN, Massimo Ferdinandi, during the presentation of his Letter of Credence to Secretary-General of ASEAN, Le Luong Minh at the ASEAN Secretariat yesterday.

In congratulating Ambassador Ferdinandi on his assumption of duty as the first Ambassador of San Marino to ASEAN, Secretary-General Minh welcomed the expression of goodwill and informed Ambassador Ferdinandi on the progress of ASEAN Community building as guided by the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and ASEAN’s efforts to enhance regional cooperation and integration as well as ASEAN’s engagement with external partners.

Ambassador Ferdinandi highlighted that his country viewed ASEAN as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world, which presents the opportunity for closer economic cooperation with San Marino. Ambassador Ferdinandi expressed San Marino’s readiness to work together with ASEAN and ASEAN Member States in areas of common interests and mutual benefits, particularly in the tourism sector.
