- The 21st ASEAN and Japan Transport Ministers Meeting (21st ATM+Japan) was held on 10 November 2023 in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Ngampasong MUONGMANY the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR and H.E. Mr. UEHARA Atsushi the Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan. The Meeting was preceded by the 22nd ASEAN and Japan Senior Transport Officials Meeting (22nd STOM+Japan) held on 8 November 2023.
- ASEAN Member States welcomed the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established at the ASEAN-Japan Summit on 6 September 2023 in Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia, and look forward to the successful convening of the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation on 16-18 December 2023 in Tokyo and its substantive deliverables, including the adoption of a new Joint Vision Statement and its Implementation Plan to set out direction for the partnership in the coming decades.
