- The Twenty Second ASEAN and China Transport Ministers Meeting (22nd ATM+China) was held on 9 November 2023, in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. The Meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Ngampasong Muongmany, Minister of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR, and H.E. Mr Li Yang, Vice Minister of Transport of the People’s Republic of China. The Meeting was preceded by the Twenty Second ASEAN and China Senior Transport Officials Meeting (22nd STOM+China) held on 8 November 2023.
- The Meeting welcomed the entry into force of the Protocol 3 of ASEAN-China Air Transport Agreement on the Expansion of Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights between Contracting Parties and looked forward to its implementation to further enhance air connectivity. The Meeting encouraged the relevant working group to discuss further liberalisation of the air services regime between and beyond ASEAN and China in order to bring wider economic and social benefits to the peoples of ASEAN and China.
