1. We, the Ministers responsible for agriculture and forestry from ASEAN and Japan, convened the Second ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry (2nd AJMAF) on 2 October 2025 in Pasay City, Philippines. The Meeting reaffirmed commitment to strengthening cooperation towards enhancing resilient and sustainable agriculture and food systems through innovation under the ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan, which was revised and adopted in 2025.
2. The Meeting recognised that the revised ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan serves as a strategic framework for deepening ASEAN-Japan partnership in advancing food security, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience, while ensuring rural development and improved livelihoods. The revised ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan also supports the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Strategic Plan 2026–2030, and the Food, Agriculture and Forestry Sectoral Plan (FAF-SP) 2026–2030, thereby ensuring coherence and alignment with ASEAN’s long-term priorities.
