- The 27th DGICM and Its Related Meetings were held in Nha Trang, Viet Nam from 13-15 August 2024. The 27th DGICM was chaired by Major General Pham Dang Khoa, Director-General of Immigration Department, Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and attended by the Heads of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of all ASEAN Member States as well as representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat. Timor-Leste participated as Observer. The 27th DGICM and Its Related Meetings were conducted under the theme of “Comprehensive Security, Enhanced Connectivity and Towards the Future”.
- The DGICM is an annual meeting of the Heads of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the ASEAN Member States to discuss, coordinate and enhance regional cooperation on border management, immigration and consular matters. The DGICM chairmanship is rotated among the ASEAN Member States in alphabetical order.
